Mr. Fernandez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree while pursuing his major in History. During his attendance, Mr. Fernandez had the privilege of visiting Cuba after his article “The Effect of the Dollar on the Cuban Economy” was published. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Fernandez returned to Miami and earned his law degree (Juris Doctor) from the St. Thomas University School of Law.
Eager for courtroom and trial experience, Mr. Fernandez became an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County. As a public defender, Mr. Fernandez tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdict. He argued hundreds of motions and attended hundreds of depositions. In 2011, he established the Law Offices of Benjamin Fernandez, P.A., which represents individuals under investigation or accused of committing a crime. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mr. Fernandez represents clients of various nationalities.
